Weird War Tales

Weird War Tales was a comic published by DC back in the 1970's. As you can guess from the covers below, the plots usually revolved around some soldiers (usually in WWI or WWII) encountering some supernatural menace. It ran for 124 issues. It was pretty cheesy. But in addition to the talented artists that did the covers below, some issues featured art by talents such as Walt Simonson, Gil Kane, and Russ Heath. Thumbnail gallery of most issues covers here. I loved this comic when I was a kid.

Weird War Tales #42. Cover art by Joe Kubert, 1975. For some reason, this is still one of my all-time favorite comic book covers.
