Gahan Wilson Needs Your Help

Gahan Wilson, one of the funniest cartoonists ever to put pen to paper, is suffering from dementia. I have laughed and enjoyed his work in the pages of National Lampoon, Playboy, and lots of other publications for decades. His step-son is raising money for memory care for him, you can donate to the fund here. Even if you can't donate a few bucks, please share this on your social media or on your own blogs.

1982 Bernie Wrightson Interview

In October 1982, The Comics Journal published a lengthy interview with Bernie Wrightson. That's when I was first really getting into Wrightson and I read that thing over and over. Looking at it now, I realize the interviewer was sitting flipping through A LOOK BACK as he did the interview, and that kind of limited the questions in my mind. It's still a great interview. Anne Francis and Forbidden Planet

I ran across these wardrobe shots of Anne Francis from the 1956 science-fiction classic Forbidden Planet and wanted to share them. And it's always nice for an excuse to post some images of the iconic movie poster. The last two are Italian and French.

Alex Toth Underoos Artwork

In the late 1970's master comic book artist Alex Toth did some promotional or conceptual art for Fruit of the Loom's line of children's underwear called Underoos. The art features different D.C. and Marvel comic book superheroes.
