History: Cream of Wheat Style

Cream of Wheat employed some of the best artists of the day to produce their advertising art. The company is also famous for the character "Chef Rastus" and sometimes demeaning depictions of African-Americans.

We have neither of those here. These illustrations are for Cream of Wheat ads, but they're by an unknown artist and depict scenes from American history. Probably from the 1930's.

Custer's Last Stand

The Alamo

Molly Pitcher at the Battle of Monmouth

To me these pictures have an F. C. Yohn vibe, especially the atypical color choices. Maybe?
