Anne Francis and Forbidden Planet

I ran across these wardrobe shots of Anne Francis from the 1956 science-fiction classic Forbidden Planet and wanted to share them. And it's always nice for an excuse to post some images of the iconic movie poster. The last two are Italian and French.

Great photos. Incidentally, it's Kid Robson, not Bobson, as your link to my site says. Fixy-fixy maybe? Ta.

Always great to see artifacts from my favorite s-f movie. Love that Italian poster!

As for wardrobe, one thing that baffled me was the scene in which Leslie Nielsen comes upon Anne Francis supposedly swimming in the nude. When she emerges from the water in a "tittilating" shot she's obviously wearing a dripping, baggy body suit that wouldn't fool a six-year-old. A friend of mine who is "in the biz" (but not connected with the production) maintained that they knew damned well the shot would look silly but included it to reassure even the most fervent bluenose that the real Miss Francis was properly covered. I don't know if I buy that.
