Re; The Avengers covers-
#1 is penciled by John Buscema, probably inked by George (Bell) Roussos and #2 is inked by Frank Giacoia. I love all these covers! Like looking at my childhood. :-)

I was thinking that the Avengers number one looked like it was inked by Don Heck

It does look a lot like Heck, actually, and since he drew the book it's a great possibility.

Actually, credits for those Avengers Annual covers 2 and 3 seem reversed. Those are clearly Sal's inks on 2 and John's on 3. Sal's inks looked more organic, less streamlined than Giacoia. They also looked better than his pencils ever did, IMHO.

There is something Sal Buscema-esque about the cover of Avengers Annual 3, though. Could it be the layout? Has anyone ever seen John Buscema's inks over another artist before?
